Jeff Long, founder and principal consultant, is a licensed private investigator. He has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, including 10 years as a Detective and Detective Supervisor, 15 years in law enforcement leadership, and 5 years as a private investigator.
Jeff is a graduate of Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command and the FBI National Academy and is trained in the Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing and Advanced Interrogation.
Throughout the last 15 years of his law enforcement career, Jeff was the Deputy Chief and Chief of Police in Edina Minnesota, and the Chief of Police in Lakeville Minnesota.
As a police detective, he spent many years investigating complex financial crimes, vulnerable adult crimes, fraud, identity theft, and violent crime.
He has used his prior training and skills to assist businesses, municipalities, law offices, and individuals with investigations related to due diligence, pre-employment background checks, legal case interviews for attorneys, and other private investigative needs.
In addition, Jeff is leveraging his three decades of public safety experience to provide consulting services to public safety agencies. Hanover Consulting Group has expertise in project management, property room audits, body-worn camera audits, and management guidance for police departments.
